Lurdes Macedo, researcher at CICANT, carried out a research visit to Mozambique between 19 January and 2 February.
During her stay, the researcher held meetings with academics from the Pedagogical University of Mozambique and the Catholic University of Mozambique. The visit also contributed to the development of her ongoing research, including work in public and private archives and the conduct of several interviews.
As part of her visit, Lurdes Macedo delivered the lecture “Jorge de Sena in Mozambique” on 27 January at the Camões – Portuguese Cultural Centre in Maputo, in Maputo. The session was opened by Mozambican writer Nelson Saúte and attracted a large and diverse audience, generating a dynamic and engaging discussion.
The lecture prompted a wide-ranging debate between the researcher and attendees, highlighting the relevance of literary and cultural connections between Portugal and Mozambique.
