Submissions are now open for a special issue of the Live Interfaces journal dedicated to the theme “Making-With”, a concept inspired by Donna Haraway. The term evokes a fundamental mode of existence grounded in processes of co-creation and collective becoming, offering a critical response to the isolation often associated with technologically mediated life. This special issue invites contributions that explore collaborative, experimental, and interdisciplinary practices. Authors are encouraged to engage with the theme broadly or to approach it through related perspectives.
The journal welcomes a wide range of formats, including essays, academic articles, audiovisual works, and experimental submissions, all of which will be published online. Particular attention is given to contributions addressing:
- Hacking practices (from hardware to cultural hacking)
- Interfacing with nature
- Emergent practices in the Global South.
The issue is guest edited by Kristina Andersen, Joel Ryan, and Atau Tanaka, in collaboration with editor-in-chief Adriana Sá.
