The first session of the future.film.education kicked off with a presentation by Isabella Giordano, a master's student in Kino Eyes, currently in her second year and studying at Lusófona University. The topic was the representation of black women in film, exploring the examples of Costa's Vitalina Varela and Nicácio and Rosa's Café com Canela. In the session, we also discussed an article by Michelle Sales & Bruno Muniz (2020) on black women’s oppositional gaze.
The future.film.education will continue its reading group session every last Wednesday of the month - the next session will take place on Zoom on the 27th of April.
