On April 20, 2022, the first episode of the podcast “Feminisms in Action” was recorded at Lusófona University, in Lisbon, as part of the CICANT project FEMglocal - Glocal feminist movements, interactions and contradictions, funded by the Foundation for Science and Technology and coordinated by the researchers Carla Cerqueira and Célia Taborda. In this conversation, conducted by researcher and journalist Vanessa Rodrigues, Alexa Santos, director of the Gender and Feminisms department at INMUNE (Black Women’s Institute in Portugal), Manuela Tavares, cofounder and board member at UMAR (Women’s Association Alternative and Response), and Carla Cerqueira, principal investigator of the research project, introduced the topic of feminism(s) whilst presenting the scope of action of FEMGlocal. This research project aims to analyse the glocal feminist movements anchored in the Portuguese context, focusing on social mobilization, communication and media visibility strategies.
