CICANT and FilmEU researcher André Rui Graça participates in SCMS 2026 in Chicago
Lusófona University/CICANT and FilmEU researcher André Rui Graça participated as a speaker at the SCMS 2026 Annual Conference, held in Chicago, USA, on 27 March. Drawing on work developed within CICANT, the FilmEU alliance, and the CresCine project, he presented the paper“Small Nations, Big Questions: Rethinking European Cinema in the Age of Global Platforms and AI”, co-authored with CICANT integrated researchers Manuel José Damásio and Rita Grácio.
The Society for Cinema and Media Studies (SCMS) is one of the leading international associations in film and media studies, and its annual conference is a major global forum that brings together scholars to present cutting-edge research.
In addition to presenting the paper, André Rui Graça served on the committee of the Katherine Singer Kovács Book Award and presented the prize during the conference’s award ceremony.
