CiCANT Researcher, PhD Fábio Sandes, presents his work at the 36th British Academy of Management Conference
Fábio Shimabukuro Sandes, a Ph.D. Integrated Researcher at CICANT presented his paper "What could make second-hand products more attractive for consumers" at the 36th British Academy of Management Conference held at the University of Manchester between the 31st of August and the 2nd of September. BAM is one of the UK's most respected and traditional conferences, attracting about 500 researchers every year. In this paper, Fabio presented his findings on two experimental studies he conducted with consumers, investigating if brands could make second-hand products more attractive to consumers. He found evidence that brands, specifically premium brands, positively influence consumers' perception of the quality of a second-hand product and, therefore, could make it more attractive for consumers. Academic and management implications were discussed during his presentation at the conference.
