CICANT researchers participate in “Digital Activisms in Dialogue” seminar

Carla Cerqueira and Maria José Brites participated in the Seminar “Digital Activisms in Dialogue” [Ativismos Digitais em Diálogo]. The event was held at Colégio Almada Negreiros on October 11.

Maria José Brites, principal investigator of the research project YouNDigital, funded by the foundation for Science and Technology (PTDC/COM-OUT/0243/2021),shared her views on “Readings of the world and the (mis)encounters with citizenship” during the event's first panel, that addressed Youth and digital activisms.

Carla Cerqueira, principal investigator of the research project FEMglocal, also funded by the foundation for Science and Technology (PTDC/COM-CSS/4049/2021), opened Panel 2 focused on Digital Feminisms, with her paper on “Glocal Feminist Activisms: Reflections taken from the Portuguese case” [Ativismos feministas glocais: reflexões a partir do caso português]. In her speech, she expanded on the work that is being conducted within the FEMglocal project, and the expected outcomes of the research, namely how glocal feminist activisms (such as #MeToo, Slutwalk, #EleNão, 8M) take shape and express themselves in Portugal.
