FEMglocal organized training on Social Media Platforms: Methods and Techniques for Data Analysis

Between January 25 and 27, the research project FEMglocal – Glocal feminist movements: interactions and contradictions (PTDC/COM-CSS/4049/2021) organised and promoted a workshop, funded by CICANT, on Social Media Platforms: Methods and Techniques for Data Analysis. The sessions were led by Ana Marta Flores (PhD, associate researcher at ICNOVA, iNova Media Lab and Obi.Media – The Observatory for Media Innovation, post-doctoral researcher at the research project MyGender) who aimed to help participants learn how to understand data gathered on social platforms and how to use tools to analyse the presence and behaviour of groups, associations and/or collectives, particularly those of a feminist nature, on social networks.

Complementing Ana Marta’s training sessions, Sofia Caldeira (PhD, Marie Skłodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellow, FEMglocal’s researcher) conducted a session on reflections on ethics in research on social networks and digital cultures.
