STORYline is running workshops and reaching national-wide communities

The STORYline project (10.54499/2023.11571.PEX) is now entering its fieldwork phase. Besides intergenerational community roundtables, STORYline is engaging young people, seniors, and intergenerational groups to conduct a set of citizenship-related workshops. During the workshops, participants will share experiences and engage in collective reflections on citizen life to develop digital narratives that aim to preserve memories and experiences of citizenship. These initiatives aim to strengthen participants’ civic awareness by encouraging reflection on citizenship in its individual and collective dimensions. By doing so, STORYline is celebrating individual and collective citizenship journeys and promoting civic engagement. The workshops also include a training component, providing an introduction to storytelling techniques and the tools and equipment used in creating digital narratives.
In recent weeks, the team has travelled through various regions of the country, from Vila Real to Lisbon, Valença, Porto, Coimbra, and Sabrosa. In each location, the workshops have brought together different perspectives and experiences, fostering new encounters and partnerships. Topics addressed included media representations, the digital divide, and individual and collective stories, which served as a basis for reflection on citizenship, identity, and the digital world.
Over the coming month, STORYline will continue to run workshops across the country, encouraging participants to share their stories, memories, and experiences.
The workshops also include a training component, providing an introduction to storytelling techniques and the tools and equipment used in creating digital narratives.
