On the 1st of march, CICANT will host the presentation of an anthology of texts by Vilém Flusser (1920- 1991), published by Edições Universitárias Lusófonas. This book is the the result of research carried out at the Vilém Flusser Archive around three contiguous areas of study: image, art and cybernetics. During the period of residence in his archive in Berlin, the authors were able to consult the legacy of a profuse and multifaceted work, accessing the dactyloscrites (essays, lectures, articles for magazines, etc.), mostly written in Portuguese and English. In this edition, with the support of CICANT and DGARTES, a set of texts on themes that converge in his thought are presented.
This session will count with the participation of José Marmeleira, Rui Matoso and José Gomes Pinto, and aims to give an account of the importance of this thinker for our time, while presenting to the Portuguese public - for the first time - the essays published.
