CresCine partners gather in Lisbon for kick-off meeting

On March 22nd and 23rd, Lusófona University hosted, in Lisbon, the kick-off meeting of the project CresCine - INCREASING THE INTERNATIONAL COMPETITIVENESS OF THE FILM INDUSTRY IN SMALL EUROPEAN MARKETS,in a hybrid event that gathered all partners from the film and audiovisual sector, of diverse institutional nature - from academia (Universidade Lusófona; VUB Belgium; Tallinn University; Aarhus University and others) to the industry (EFA - European Film Academy; Marché du Film- Cannes; Baltic Film Cluster; Dain studios and several others).

The objectives of the one and a half day program were fully achieved. The project coordinated by Professor José Manuel Damásio and funded by the European Commission through their Horizon Europe programme, brings together a consortium of 28 international partners, with the aiming to increase the competitiveness of the film industry in smaller European countries and improve the international circulation of films and AV content from small markets by studying, engaging, empowering and ultimately transforming the small European markets through innovative research and piloting in 7 countries/markets, namely: Portugal, Estonia, Lithuania, Denmark, Ireland, Belgium (Flanders) and Croatia.
