CICANT researcher contributes to White Book of Public service media
Maria José Brites, CICANT integrated researcher, participated in the White Book of Public service media. The book results from the work done by the White Book Commission on Public Service Radio and Television, created by the Minister of Culture on January 5, 2023. The Commission was given a twofold mission: of analysis, through mapping the main transformations of the public radio and television in a set of European countries; of diagnosis of the challenges facing the public radio and television service, in a context of technological change and changing consumer habits. The White Book aimed at listing the challenges faced by the sector in a context of profound change, in order to precede and prepare the review of the RTP concession contract.
Maria José Brites participated in this work as a consultant and also contributed with a scientific text, written in co-authorship with the researcher Cristina Ponte. The text focuses on the public service media and programming for children and young people, presenting a set of recommendations for the continuous improvement of public service media with special attention to these audiences.
