Feitiço de Areia is a documentary film in which the director seeks dialogue with Mozambican voices of the present, in order to understand and confront the common past, breaking with the versions inherited by her generation, opening space for debate.
The shooting of the feature documentary Feitiço de Areia (90', 2024), by the researcher Vanessa Ribeiro Rodrigues, starts now in July, in Mozambique, and ends in August. The film is produced by the production company Real Ficção, in partnership with Sabina Films, and has production support from ICA - Cinema and Audiovisual Institute. The film is also supported by SONY and has the seal of Camões - Instituto da Cooperação e da Língua. The film had already been selected in 2022 for the co-production meetings of the Porto/Post/Doc Film & Media Festival as a bet on the narrative of the film which will be shot in Maputo, Nampula, Nacala and Pemba.
The team is made up of Portuguese and Mozambican professionals.
