On July 3rd and 4th, 2023, the COST Action a-STEP held its first international training school in Elbasan, Albania. The training had the theme “Building Bridges with Participatory Research”, which focused on doing participatory research with people with disabilities, mainly people with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), and Intellectual Disability (ID), through the use of Assistive Technologies (AT).
The training school had as its aim to provide participants with knowledge, skills and competences about how to use participatory research to promote the social inclusion of with people ASD and ID in studies and the several ethical problems that can arise before and during their participation.
GameIN project (2022.07939.PTDC), which has CICANT as a partner, was represented in this school by two participants and research fellows, who are also students from Lusófona University, both from the PhD Programme in Communication Sciences and the Master’s Degree in Game Design and Playful Media.
