On July 12, 2024, OPERAT launched the game "Bordalo e o Gato" openly on its website (https://operat.ulusofona.pt/recursos/videojogos/bordalo-e-o-gato/), with versions available for PC and Android devices. This launch took place at the Over&Out 2024 event, where the game was awarded the "Best Social Impact" prize by an external jury made up of industry members and video game journalists.
This game is the result of a collaborative design process between Lusófona University's Degree in Video Games, the Bordalo Pinheiro Museum (https://museubordalopinheiro.pt/) and APPACDM Lisbon (https://appacdm-lisboa.pt/), aimed at making it culturally accessible to People with Intellectual Disabilities. CICANT researchers José Carlos Neves and Carla Sousa coordinated, together with Hernâni Pawlick David, a team of students who carried out the project (Bruno Rodrigues, João Fonseca, João Freire, João Inácio, Marco Domingos, Micael Teixeira, Rodrigo Pires). The iOS and MacOS versions will be available soon.
