André Rui Graça is a researcher at Lusófona University and guest assistant professor at the University of Beira Interior. He holds a PhD in Film Studies from University College London and is the author of Portuguese Cinema (1960-2010): Consumption, Circulation and Commerce (Boydell and Brewer, 2021). André Graça has presented his work internationally and has published frequently, in both academic and extra-academic contexts. Namely, about: Portuguese cinema, cultural policies, the relationship between creative industries and economics, and film theory. In 2016 and 2017, he co-edited, along with Manuela Penafria, Eduardo Baggio and Denize Araújo, three books on the Filmmakers on Film theoretical approach. He has presented his work in various points of the world (New York University, Paris III Sorbonne Nouvelle, Oxford University; UNICAMP, New University of Lisbon, Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, among others) and published in peer-reviewed journals. He has also co-edited a special issue of Empedocles: European Journal for the Philosophy of Communication (2022) and Aniki: Portuguese Journal of the Moving Image (2020). André Rui Graça also holds an MBA and works as a management and strategy consultant.
