Developing a gamified tool for enhancing youth entrepreneurial skills

The European Commission has designated 2022 as the “European Year of Youth” and encourages the development of young people in a more active, participatory and quality way. The development of entrepreneurial skills is an important goal for preparing youth for the future of work. GameYES aims at enhancing entrepreneurship skills for youth, through the development of a gamified curriculum that immerses them in realistic scenarios where they have to be active agents for developing their ideas. Entrepreneurship-related skills, such as critical thinking, decision-making, leadership, collaboration, learning from failure, creativity and innovation, negotiation, etc., are among the core skills that youth will be practicing and developing throughout the gamified curriculum. The gamified experience will guide youth from finding a good idea that relates to solving a problem, setting up the basics of their business, creating a team and growing. Ultimately, teams will participate in a pitching competition. Throughout the gamified experience, youth will have opportunities to speak with experts in the area and receive mentorship from experts in the field.
